School Holiday Activities at Murrook Culture Centre
Experience culture, creativity and connection these school holidays at Murrook Cultural Centre. If you’re looking for something meaningful, engaging and memorable to do with the family, Murrook is opening its doors for a vibrant program of hands-on cultural workshops that invite visitors of all ages to learn, create and connect.
Running from Tuesday 7th to Friday 17th April 2026, this special school holiday program offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in culture in a welcoming and interactive environment.
Murrook’s workshops are designed with families in mind. Whether you're a local or visiting the area, you can enjoy a range of activities that celebrate the rich traditions and stories of the Worimi people. During your visit, you’ll have the chance to explore traditional art and craft techniques, learn how to throw a boomerang, discover the significance of natural resources, and hear local cultural stories passed down through generations. Each session is guided by knowledgeable facilitators who bring culture to life through storytelling and hands-on learning.
The program runs across two weeks, giving you flexibility to plan your visit. Week one includes Tuesday 7th, Thursday 9th and Friday 10th April, while week two runs from Monday 13th to Friday 17th April. With multiple session times available throughout the day, it’s easy to fit a workshop into your schedule. Walk-ins are welcome, so you can drop by and join in on the day.
These workshops are designed to be accessible for everyone, with sessions starting from just $10 per person, or $30 for a family of four per workshop. It’s an affordable way to give your family a rich cultural experience that’s both educational and fun.
While you're there, take some time to relax and recharge at the on site café, where you can enjoy a delicious coffee or lunch as part of your visit and soak in the surroundings.
You can book your spot at the Murrook desk or by calling ahead, or simply arrive on the day. For bookings and more information, contact Joanna on 02 4033 8825.
This school holiday program is more than just an activity, it’s an opportunity to connect with culture, community and creativity. Whether you're painting, learning new skills or listening to stories, Murrook offers an experience the whole family will remember.
